Contract: 6 month
possible extensions and conversion to permanent employment
Position Overview
To develop applications or large components of an application while following established and tested best practices and collaborating closely with the team. The Developer is responsible for accurate project estimations, as well as thorough and responsible usage of time and a high level of attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Programming courseware to meet SCORM 2004 standards.
Developing courseware for Android OS platform.
Working on software development, programming and testing in Android OS.
Accurately estimate project LOE based on interface wireframes / desired functionality.
Meet deadlines established by accurate project estimates.
Work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
Designs, develops, tests and maintains Android applications.
Investigates and resolves issues with our applications.
Apply knowledge of current Android development trends and new technologies.
Know Android guidelines and advise design team early when minor changes are necessary.
Solution oriented with out-of-the-box influence.
Work with and learn from more senior Android developers.
Effectively utilize Subversion / distributed version control.
Education/Skills and Requirements:
At least a Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum 8
years Software Engineering experience
At least 4
years on Java and/or Android development experience in a professional environment
Source code control experience (Eclipse IDE integrated with Android Dev Toolkit preferred)
Experience using the Android SDK specifically activities, intents, broadcasts and layouts that involve extensive use of tables.
End-to-end experience in developing, packaging and distributing Android apps.
In-depth knowledge in Object Oriented concepts and SDLC
Excellent communication & inter-personal skills, with the ability to talk to each individual's level of technical knowledge
PREFERED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
Experience with developing Augmented Reality and Bio-Metric applications
Experience with OpenGL
Experience developing Location Based Services
Experience in Structured Query Language (SQL)
Experience in C#.net
Basic knowledge of major platforms (iOS, Symbian, Qt, Bada etc.)
Experience working with the military or DoD
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
