Acting as both a Senior Software Engineer and Development manager the person in this role will provide Development team with clear, prioritized goals and direction. As an individual contributor the person in this role will design and build high-volume web services implementing secure identity and verification functions, improve user experiences. As Development Manager will be responsible for a geographically distributed team of 15-25 engineers covering all major timezones, leading planning for approved projects and assisting with business case generation for new projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing distributed team including regular reporting, metrics and KPIs to CTO/leadership team.
Responsible for planning and scheduling of development projects and managing technical interfaces with third party developers as required.
Providing high level estimates (both time and cost) for project budgeting/business case generation.
Drafting, agreeing and managing development related budget.
Leading recruitment of new team members.
Considered HTML/CSS/Javascript (jQuery, AJAX, etc.) master with abilities in HTML5, REST and JSON.
Subject Matter Expert in one or more server-side languages and frameworks especially Scala/Java, Node.js and PHP
Lead responsibilities for a team designing highly interactive web applications with performance, scalability, usability, and security in mind.
Oversight of relational database schema design and queries.
Oversight for the development on Unix/Linux platforms.
Applied knowledge of applied cryptographic concepts such as certificates, certificate chains, key management.
Insures that security risks are reduced through secure software development.
Leads the prototyping experience
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership.
5 years project management latterly with agile based processes with demonstrable success
5 years dynamic / scripting language programming, with background in Scala / Java and C/C+
systems programming

years experience in Systems Engineering / Administration with firm understanding of Unix architecture.
Strong Computer Science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Engineering or related discipline requiredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
