Job Description
Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), a regulated gas and electric provider wholly owned by NiSource (NYSE:NI), has a job opportunity in its northwest Indiana (greater Chicago area) corporate headquarters. NIPSCO is hiring a Strategic Analyst to join the Strategic Planning group to support the development of the company s short and long term strategic goals and to facilitate day-to-day execution of strategic development plans. The analyst will work with key business unit leaders on cross-functional teams to identify strategic opportunities in the changing industrial market to aid in charting NIPSCO s future.
The level of Strategic Analyst will be dependent on experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Strategic Analyst
The Strategic Analyst will support the Company s short and long-term strategic actions by:
Working with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate commercial and strategic options and recommendations
Coordinating relevant future scenario data and assumptions from internal and external sources to support modeling efforts
Compiling market and competitive intelligence for strategic initiatives
Assisting in preparing whitepapers and presentations for functional leaders and key executives

The Senior Strategic Analyst will support the Company s short and long-term strategic actions by:
Working with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate commercial and strategic options and recommendations
Developing accurate, well documented strategic analyses, data analyses and related research
Advancing long-term strategic planning by coordinating relevant future scenario data and assumptions from internal and external sources to support modeling efforts
Compiling and distilling financial analysis, market and competitive intelligence, quantitative analysis and technical understanding to buttress strategy
Preparing whitepapers and presentations for functional leaders and key executives

The Lead Strategic Analyst will support the Company s short and long-term strategic actions by:
Working with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate commercial and strategic options and recommendations
Developing accurate, well documented strategic analyses, data analyses and related research
Advancing long-term strategic planning by coordinating relevant future scenario data and assumptions from internal and external sources to support modeling efforts
Compiling and distilling financial analysis, market and competitive intelligence, quantitative analysis and technical understanding to buttress strategy
Preparing whitepapers and presentations for functional leaders and key executives
Leading work streams and initiatives by developing work plans and establishing cross-functional teams and coordinating meetings to discuss inputs and results
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated capacity for strategic and critical thinking through a quantitative framework
Comfortable working on complex problems often with ambiguity or limited structure
Demonstrated advanced financial or engineering-economic modeling capabilities
Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex ideas
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within an organization
Qualifications - Strategic Analyst
BS/BA degree from an accredited institution
Record of outstanding academic achievement
Qualifications - Sr. Strategic Analyst
At least 2
years of relevant experience; previous electric or gas utility experience preferred
BS/BA degree from an accredited institution; advanced degree (MBA, MPA, PhD) strongly preferred
Record of outstanding academic achievement
Qualifications - Lead Strategic Analyst
At least 4
years of relevant experience; previous electric or gas utility experience preferred
BS/BA degree from an accredited institution; advanced degree (MBA, MPA, PhD) strongly preferred
Record of outstanding academic achievement
Record of successfully leading teams or projects

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
