Responsibilities:
Construction Oversight (Field Inspection)
Perform Permit submittals
Attend project kickoff meetings
Station number assigned jobs
Manage Utility Locates for project
Visit all assigned projects in progress
Track daily crew progress
Make on-site decisions regarding SOW compliance
Daily construction oversight
Assist in managing Right-of-way owner and Customer relationship
Report findings to Project or Engineering Manager
Quality
Verify Redlines/As-builds
Verify work is being performed according to customer specs
Provide direction to crews for following proper construction procedures
Perform punch list walkouts
Safety
Ensure proper traffic control
Report any safety violations
Investigate construction accidents
Permits
Fill out all ROW and traffic safety permits
Manage permit process to keep permits up to date (not expired) during construction and splicing process
Be main point of contact to/for any permitting agencies
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5 years experience in Outside Plant construction
3 years experience in leading Outside Plant construction crews
High School Diploma
Capability to obtain the following certifications:
VDOT Temporary Traffic Control Manager
CPR
First Aid
Erosion and Sediment Control
