The Project Security Manager is the senior subcontractor employee on site at the installation responsible for the overall management and coordination of all security personnel requirements pertaining to the West Sound Base Operations Support Contract. This position reports all aspects of the operation directly to the Chugach Program Manager and the HSSI Program Manager. The Project Security Manager interfaces with the Chugach Base Operations Support Contract Program Manager, and with the Naval Base Kitsap Security Officer or his representative, on a daily basis to coordinate operations and to work collaboratively to resolve technical, operational and contractual issues. The Project Security Manager performs a wide range of coordination and security personnel support activities specifically for Naval Base Kitsap Bangor, Silverdale, WA and the Naval Hospital facility, Bremerton, WA, ensuring all guard posts are manned by qualified HSSI contract personnel and all guard regulations are strictly adhered to. This position reports to the HSSI Program Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. In-depth knowledge of military security, civilian police, or other highly related discipline.
2. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to a wide variety of audiences.
3. Ability to use computer software applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail.
4. Ability to direct activities of others and to work independently with little or no supervision.
5. Ability to make sound decisions using good judgment.
6. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights and/or weekends and travel intermittently.
7. Must be in good physical health and be able to perform the wide range of physical activities required to participate and oversee security guard operation in all conditions including inclement weather.
Minimum
Qualifications:
1. Must be a US citizen
2. Must successfully pass the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory II (MMPI II)
3. Must successfully pass an initial pre-employment physical and drug screening and periodic follow-up testing
4. Must successfully complete a background check
5. Must have a current state drivers license
6. Must have ten (10) years of relevant, practical security management experience preferably within the active military or civilian police community.
7. Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance.
8. Must be Lautenberg compliant
9. Minimum one (1) year maritime/harbor security experience preferred
