Job Description:
We are looking for someone with a BSME or BSIE with experience in manufacturing technical support.
The Support Services Engineer provides Technical support to the Line Inspection and Support Services department which provide a variety of services for the Automotive Piston, Diesel Piston and Camshaft Machining Facility. These services include but are not limited to measurement method development and troubleshooting, inventory control for tooling and spare parts as well as other projects assigned.
Primary functions of the Support Services Engineer is to ensure that measurement methods and systems are accurate, efficient, and satisfy the measurement requirements based on engineering standards.
Program and Troubleshoot Measurement Equipment including:
Scanning CMMs, Roughness Gauges, Contour Systems, and Form Measurement Systems.
Develop and Improve Measurement Methods.
Select and Implement New Measuring Equipment as Needed.
Create Detailed Work Instructions.
Provide Training to Team Leaders, Technicians, and Inspectors.
Interface with Internal and External Customers.
Projects to optimize inventory/ordering levels for tooling and spare parts.
Cost reduction projects which relate to the overall support of production and facilities.
Projects assigned will require accurate data gathering and analysis as related to labor utilization, equipment utilization, and costs associated with service processes.
Projects will often require mechanical design skills, equipment and process layout as well as facilitation of multiple crafts in the implementation of the project.
Education requirements:
BSME, BSIE (Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)
