Position Objective
The Application Engineer manages all aspects of Tyler Technologies' Microsoft Exchange, Lync, and Active Directory environments for over 2400 Tyler employees located in over 15 states. This includes responsibility for design, architecture, implementation and testing, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, troubleshooting and security of the applications. As this position is responsible for the email, instant messaging and user authentication aspects of the company's shared communications environment, this requires a strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft networking, TCP/IP, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Lync, VMWare, SAN technology, and remote connectivity. The ideal candidate will be able to acquire new technical skills and apply this knowledge on the fly to find timely solutions to problems with the application environment.
Responsibilities
Support the design, implementation, integration, and administration of Tyler Technologies email applications, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Lync.
Plan for and install service packs, hotfixes, updates and patches during off-peak time as required and maintain associated test environments.
Provides guidance in the logical and physical design of application systems and ensure design is consistent and well integrated with existing application architectures.
Analyze current business solution requirements and map to Tyler applications.
Monitor application performance for Tyler shared applications.
Create and maintain datasheets, application notes, system integration guides, and new product evaluations and proposals for internal and/or external use.
Provide support in researching and evaluating technology, products, and solutions for future IT strategies and planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or comparable work experience.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, especially in Microsoft Exchange 2010 and later
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server 2003 and later
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Microsoft networking, routing and firewalls
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft IIS
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Services
Strong working knowledge of PC and server hardware (RAID, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of SAN and VMWare technologies
Preferred experience with Lync or other instant messaging technologies.
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast paced, technical environment.
Ability to find root causes of problems and quickly determine efficient solutions; can anticipate and mitigate risks.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude under high-stress situations.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
