Patten Industries, the leading Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana Caterpillar Dealer, has an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst. Financial Analyst is to provide various ad-hoc analyses plus regularly scheduled monthly dashboard information and such other information assigned to this position. Manage the administration of retail financing for our customers.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst will prepare commentaries and analysis that demonstrates business awareness, and a good understanding of relevant commercial and economic factors influencing business performance, and the impact of relevant accounting standards. Respond to requests and inquiries from senior management and business managers. Provide regular analysis and reports as well as analysis to support specific inquiries. Proactive evaluation of results, and be able to raise questions to pre-empt senior management review points. Able to develop methods, procedures, and reports to track and maintain data for analytics.

Create and deliver presentations of analysis, trends, metrics and results. Support presentations with supporting analysis, assumptions, calculations and conclusions. Effective liaison with financial managers/business managers throughout the group to resolve reporting issues and agree on commentary. A good team player and ability to effectively support its business managers. Complete other related duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Responsible for coordinating the annual budget and capital expenditure budget.
Responsible for coordinating the annual Patten Strategic Plan for the operating managers.
Evaluating capital appropriation requests for approval.
Preparing the quarterly forecast and monthly cash forecast.
Preparing the Inventory Forecast and effect on cash and debt
Assist in preparing the monthly executive financial package with commentary, metrics and analysis.
Analyze monthly financial results and highlight to management unusual and significant trends plus provide recommendation to alleviate or reverse such negative trends.
Prepare CAT surveys, financial reports such as CDBG, GLCDA reports and such other financial reports and various analyses
Prepare various annual information sheets for DIG, Dealer Excellence, GLCDA

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/
Experience:
Education:
Bachelors degree in finance required. MBA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of proven and progressive finance experience.

Knowledge:
Must understand GAAP and keep apprised of all new developments.
Must have an expertise in Excel, Powerpoint, Word and other financial software systems.

Licenses/Certificates:
None required.

SUPERVISORY RESPOSIBILITIES: This position requires no supervision of staff.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must have a great deal of initiative and flexibility to handle a frequently changing work environment.
Must be mature, cooperative (team-player) and career-oriented.
Must be proficient in gathering data electronically by accessing computer databases, tables and other electronically stored data.
Must be an effective presenter and communicator of simplifying complicated information via Powerpoint presentations.
Must have good managerial, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must show the aptitude to handle non-accounting tasks such as capital/cash flow analysis, budgeting and financial planning and analysis.
Must be able to recognize inefficient processes and quickly correct them.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
