The Staff Pharmacist reports to the Director of Pharmacy. Provides comprehensive cognitive and distributive pharmaceutical services. Interprets and processes physician medication orders and compounds and dispenses medication within regulatory guidelines. Monitors drug therapy for appropriateness of drug, dose, route, and duration. Screens for drug interactions, incompatibilities, and contraindications and consults with medical staff as indicated. Identifies actual or potential drug related problems and intervenes appropriately. Provides clinical pharmacy services, including pharmacokinetics, renal drug dosing, management of parenteral nutrition, and monitoring of anticoagulant therapy. Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and patients. Supervises and directs the activities of pharmacy technicians. Participates in formulary management, quality improvement, and medication use evaluation activities. Assists in the management of pharmacy department physical inventory of drugs and supplies.
Education:
Required: B.S. in Pharmacy
Preferred: Pharm. D degree
Completion of ASHP accredited residency program
Completion of an accredited Sterile Products Training program
Experience:
Preferred: Two years hospital pharmacy experience
Licenses/Certificates:
Required: Registered Pharmacist license, New Mexico Board of Pharmacy

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
