As a member of the software and service desk sustainment, a candidate would be responsible for a myriad of software activities in support of the desktop, server and software life-cycle. Experience in the following areas is required;
Strong Linux experience (hardware & software)
Scripting and programming (C, Perl, Shell, VBS, TK Python, Java, JavaScript)
Architect configurations for software pushes throughout the enterprise
Create scripts to pull metrics from desktop and server utilization
Install approved GOTS/FOSS/COTS software (test and deploy)
Manage the /usr/local
Maintain infrastructure software packages and documentation repository
Build compile hosts
Tune kernel for application optimization
Scripting and programming (C, Perl, Shell, VBS, TK Python, Java, JavaScript)
Assisting with installation or relocation of IT workstations

Required Skills: Individual shall have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems Mathematics or 5 years of full time Computer Science work that can be substituted for a BS degree. The individual should have 5 years' experience supporting software architecture development requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools and system integration activities. Must have experience with scripting.
