## Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To manage assembly and fabrication operations for the Sub-Assembly, Assembly and Final Assembly areas of manufacturing production. (e.g. electro-mechanical assembly and wiring, light-fabrication assembly, light machining coordination, cable repairs and routing, and painting touchup)
JOB DUTIES:
1. Assist management and lead the assembly team, with resolving the most complex issues involving the manufacturing process.
2. Organizes the day-to-day operations and prioritization within assigned work area.
3. Responsible for defect reporting and interruptions to flow, with Root Cause and Corrective Action problem solving.
4. Oversees, evaluates and controls assigned area''s budget, schedule and quality of work.
5. Develops subordinate lead personnel through delegation of duties, coaching, and mentorship.
6. Represents assigned factory areas at program operations meetings.
7. Responsible for staffing of department to meet program needs, and the assessment and development of skills and certifications to meet demand requirements.
8. Interacts with other ISC Managers and Planners to support program priorities.
9. Recommends and justifies capital equipment and tooling expenses required to meet departmental and program needs.
10. Performs administrative tasks including writing employee performance evaluations, analyzing training needs, and monitoring standard work practices in production.
11. Writes procedures, forecasts and manpower plans, while assessing planned vs. actual performance standards.
12. Practices Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position will be exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Visual requirements is the minimum standard for those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, computer terminals, extensive reading and visual inspection of small parts.
Individuals may be excluded from positions where duties or tasks pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or other employees.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. This position is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
2. This position is subject to a variety of physical and atmospheric conditions
3. This position may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment if the employee is exposed to noise, dust, fumes or chemicals or any other situation that would require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
4. This position may require the use of a respirator if the employee performs spray application of surface coatings and paint or other duties that would require the use of a respirator.
5. This position is subject to working conditions peculiar to this position (e.g., travel to suppliers and subcontractors).
## Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Diverse knowledge of industry wide practices and procedures in manufacturing.
2. Technical knowledge of electronic assemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies, fabricated metal working, cable and wire assembly, soldering, hydraulic systems, machining, welding, and painting operations.
3. Knowledge in cable manufacturing assembly and IPC standards 610 and 620.
4. Competency or knowledge of test and simulation techniques used to validate functionality of unmanned vehicle technologies (ie. Ground Control Stations)
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software, specifically working with spreadsheets and analyzing large data outputs.
6. Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. Experience in Oracle is desired.
7. Knowledge of military and commercial quality specifications (AS9100 Stds).
8. Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications.
9. Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.
10. Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills.
11. Ability to analyze complex specifications, drawings, procedures and schematics, and communicate to technical teams on needs in Mfg.
12. Ability to apply analytical skills to problems.
13. Ability to plan and organize workload, while delegating as needed.
14. Ability to effectively resolve manufacturing issues across organizations.
15. Leadership capability over a large, diverse team of assemblers and technicians.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Typically requires 8-10 year of experience in manufacturing, with a Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Industrial Management/Business, OR equivalent combination of education or experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the job duties.
