Summary:
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, Engineering and Business Technologies. Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Programs, the Dean is responsible for the leadership and management of the college's mechanical, electronics, and industrial engineering; air conditioning, heating and refrigeration; automotive systems; computer integrated machining; electrical/electronics; mechanical drafting; construction management; and motorsports management technologies disciplines; and related business and accounting programs.
Required Education/Experience Skills:
The successful candidate will be required to have a Master's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution, and at least three years of experience as a manager of a technical discipline in an industrial or business enterprise or three years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity in higher education.
Preferred Education/
Experience:
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Engineering or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution, and at least five years of experience as a manager of a technical unit in an industrial or business enterprise or at least five years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity in higher education.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Plan, develop, and implement innovative programs in order to provide a rich and supportive student-learning environment.
o Plan, develop, and implement innovative partnerships with business and industry in the community to foster a supportive economic development environment, including contract and community education.
o Provide leadership to faculty for the development of institutional research and evaluation of student outcomes.
o Seek and coordinate grant opportunities.
o Direct grant and resource development, management and reporting processes.
o Administer processes for faculty and staff evaluation as assigned.
o Facilitate strategic planning processes in areas of responsibility College-wide, and supervise the preparation of the College educational master plan for areas of responsibility.
o Provide administrative support and direction to faculty chairs, site administrators, classified staff, and others.
o Recommend and implement policies and procedures.
o Recommend faculty and staff selection in accordance with College policies and procedures.
o Provide employee support and supervision.
o Ensure the college is in compliance with national, state, and local level educational program regulations and guidelines.
o Recommend initiatives related to the program endeavoring to promote student success and continually improve the division's programs, while following relevant guidelines of state and accreditation standards.
o Work with faculty chairs in assignment of staff, preparation of the College catalog, class schedules, and appropriate budgets.
o Develop and manage budget allocations and expenditures.
o Administer program planning and enrollment management processes in order to effectively and efficiently meet student and community needs.
o Work with faculty chairs in preparing program evaluations and implementing evaluation recommendations.
o Aligned all programs curriculum with the SACS, Technical Education Authority requirement and other certifications and accreditations include NATEF, ATEF, Accredited Training and Education Facility by NCCER, I-CAR, HVAC Excellence, AWS, SAE, NIM, MastrCam, and ACBSP
o Serve on, chair, co-chair advisory boards and/or committees as appropriate.
o Assess community needs and develop partnerships and other collaborative relationships with business/industry, government agencies, high schools, college, universities and other entities.
o Represent the College at public functions and/or in the community. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
