Senior Software Quality Engineer

a.i. solutions is a small aerospace engineering and IT services firm with local roots in Huntsville. a.i solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations, audits and assessments for existing missile defense components and architectures. Provide technical expertise in software quality to Mission Assurance Management in performing oversight of all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development and testing efforts. Responding to requirements, design, development and testing concerns. Supporting failure review boards/investigations, milestone software reviews and aiding in the implementation of CMMI processes. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations.
Essential Roles &
Responsibilities:
Support software requirements identification and development processes by evaluating and assessing planning, design, development, and maintenance for mission critical missile defense software
Provide SQA experience within the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS)
Work with a broad variety of development, testing and production issues in software design and analysis, software maintenance, and testing.
Integrate the software/hardware for the weapon systems operation
Ability to use requirements, design, code and testing tools to characterize issues in software development and operation
Support failure review boards (FRB)
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline; Master's a plus
Background in NASA and/or DoD missile defense systems and/or satellite systems and experience with BMDS a plus.
7 years of SQA experience in a software development environment
Experience with designing/assessing/evaluating mission critical software and project management a plus.
Well-versed in software design methodologies to pursue system specifications and design definitions.
Experience with software test and evaluation of mission critical tactical software
Ability to conduct technical audits and document results in audit reports to provide management and customer with deeper insight into product.
Skilled in written and oral communication and capable of daily direct customer interaction.
Experience in assisting in developing solutions to a wide range of complex technical and programmatic problems.
Active Secret ClearanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
