Nursing supervisor is the immediate leader for a specific nursing unit. Responsible for the patient population and assigned staff. The nursing supervisor plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and evaluates the day to day unit activities. The nursing supervisor is responsible for the patient care, actions and outcomes on the unit. The nursing supervisor collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and safe patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. He/She is responsible for the education of and compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals and NHS policies, practices, and protocols. The nursing supervisor delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Education
Minimal: Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program
Experience
Minimal: Two years clinical RN experience
Licenses/Certifications
Minimal: Licensed to practice as an RN in the state of Arkansas in accordance with the Arkansas Nursing Board Act; current American Heart Association BLS; current ACLS and PALS or acquired within the first 60 days of employment
