Position Summary
Provide visionary, collaborative leadership for the development and implementation of strategic plan for faculty development as it supports the university's vision and mission. Lead and coordinate faculty development activities for all CMU faculty (tenure and non-tenure track) and graduate teaching assistants focused on improving teaching and learning for all CMU students, on and off-campus. Advocate for and facilitate effective high impact teaching practices that maximize student learning.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited higher education institution;
Three years of experience in developing and leading faculty development programs;
Five years of experience in instructional design at the university level;
University level teaching experience;
Understanding of university level teaching, learning, and the appropriate uses of learning technologies in education as they apply to student success in various disciplines;
Track record of motivating and working collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and all units across campus in the promotion of successful student learning;
Knowledge of and ability to use learning management systems to enhance student learning;
Demonstrated administrative experience in areas such as strategic planning, budget management, personnel supervision, and program evaluation;
Ability to interpret data and use it for program improvement;
Commitment to the promotion of inclusion and diversity;
Evidence of excellent communication, interpersonal and consultative skills; and
Ability to effectively prioritize workload by managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree from an accredited higher education institution;
Record of scholarship related to teaching and learning;
Record of activities in the assessment of teaching, program development, course redesign, technology implementation, and the scholarship of teaching and learning;
Experience as online course developer, instructor or student;
Evidence of excellent supervisory, budgetary, and project-management skills;
Understanding of adult learning theory; and
Experience managing budgets and supervising others.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and sustain a vision for faculty development based on sound pedagogical research, the needs of CMU faculty and students, and the strategic directions of the university.
Design and implement programs aimed at promoting, implementing, and assessing innovative and strong pedagogy, supporting the use of technology and learning management systems as they enhance student learning in fact-to-face, blended, distance, and online environments.
Introduce a variety of methodologies that improve the student learning experience including active learning, flipped classrooms, experiential learning, and methodologies appropriate for distance delivery.
Provide on-going professional development for all faculty and graduate teaching assistants to advance teaching excellence, including but not limited to orientation, workshops, seminars, faculty learning communities, discussions, mentoring/coaching, and individual or unit level consultations.
Collaborate effectively with all colleges and administrative units to identify and support the use of high-impact practices and emerging learning technologies in the development and delivery of high quality programs that may be particular to content areas and/or college initiatives.
Develop and carry out a communications strategy aimed at increasing FaCIT's visibility, promoting a culture of faculty engagement and collaboration, and establishing a clear calendar of events and services.
Provide leadership in the management, staffing, and budgeting of the unit.
Collect, analyze, and report data to assess the effectiveness of FaCIT programming and provide annual reports and other documents as needed.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
