Job Descriptions:
The Sr. Engineer is dedicated to the engineering and management of all application infrastructure services, including web platforms, third party applications, and proprietary applications. The Sr. Engineer is responsible for managing the technical architecture, stability, resiliency, and general health related to the application and web infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will play a significant role in both operational support and engineering the next generation architecture. The Sr. Engineer will work with all of the Engineering teams to assist in the engineering, implementation, and management of all Application Infrastructure components that support the company's initiatives.
The Sr. Engineer has the following
Responsibilities:
Forward-looking vision, analysis, and testing of application and web platform advancements.
Design, build, configuration, scaling, and tuning of all application infrastructure and clusters.
Development and implementation of standard operational procedures to provide standardization and stability to the environment and processes.
Development, implementation, and reporting of metrics and thresholds for both trending and alerting for application components.
Design and management of Disaster Recovery solutions.
Design, implementation, and management of log consolidation and trending solutions.
Participation in resolution and Root Cause Analysis of any outages or other SLA impacting issues
Routine operational maintenance including installations, upgrades, patching, monitoring, auditing, issue resolution.
Automation of standard build processes.
Architectural and operational documentation for all application infrastructure
Operations in a 24x7 SAAS environment with on-call / off-hours support
Required
Experience:
Experience & Skills:
5
years experience with providing production support for applications on a variety of platforms.
5
years experience with a variety of web platforms including Weblogic, Tomcat, and IIS
5
years experience with scripting
Experience with Biztalk, ActiveMQ, and PingFederate preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver projects.
Demonstrated ability to support and tune large transaction applications
Experience with basic Windows and Linux administration, including users, groups, permissions, job scheduling, and file systems.
Understanding of all infrastructure components including client / server, network, database, storage, and applications.
Experience with capacity planning and trending.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to document and measure processes, procedures, and projects.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to thrive in a changing environment, and effectively and efficiently manage time across multiple projects and responsibilities.
