From time to time our client in your area looks for Freelance Web Designers.
The Web Designer will collaborate with top tier Art Directors and non-technical staff to create and implement effective solutions for Web sites and web-based applications. The work will entail maintaining and expanding current sites as well as developing new sites.
The candidate must be fluent using Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, etc.) and Microsoft Office; as well as having advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web design standards. An applicant must have experience creating compelling graphic campaigns in web development. Candidates should have a portfolio of their work ready to present.
Essential Duties
Create design prototypes, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content, for the client web sites and for internal application websites.
Produce effective graphical solutions that satisfy the business, communication, and aesthetic needs of the company
Apply user centric design techniques and best practices to design websites
Quickly prototype conceptual designs
Produce web graphic illustrations such as buttons, page controls, icons
Produce a working HTML template from conceptual designs created in a graphical (non-HTML) format
Create Web site design from conception through implementation, and update as needed
Work with web director to discuss and interpret the business needs
Responsible for the visual transition of wire frames to fully designed web pages and web application interfaces
Additionally, be involved with other deliverables such as marketing web pages, emails, image production
Understand our target audience and create and design based on different users and personalities
Qualifications
3
years Web production and design experience working on high traffic websites
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Fireworks.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver
Expert knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Expert understanding of W3C standards as well as browser-specific bugs and variations, including IE, Firefox and Chrome. Understanding of browser display differences on different platforms and devices.
Knowledge in the latest design trends and creating sales and marketing materials for web and mobile
Expert level production skills required, production, image optimization
Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures of graphic and Web design, and usability, with a strong user-centered design orientation
Must possess an extremely high attention to detail
Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
Must be able to produce accurate and high quality deliverables under tight deadlines
Must be able to provide a live portfolio of previous design work for static and dynamic driven websites.
Experience with dynamic CMS-driven sites including installation and setup is a huge plus.
