The Team Leader provides leadership for an operating team managing the 135,000 acre Southwest Washington Tree Farm with an annual harvest of 103MMBF. The Southwest Washington operating area reaches from Pacific County in the west to Klickitat County to the east. The Main Office is located in Longview, Washington.

The Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and overall direction to ensure execution of key operating variables, including safety and enhancing technical and organizational competencies, for a team representing harvesting, engineering, forestry and support functions. In conjunction with the leadership role, the team leader is expected to actively participate in field work and projects as needed to achieve team goals. The SW Washington harvest level is attained through contractor crews and the tree farm is SFI certified. The Team Leader is a key part of the leadership team, reporting to Columbia's General Manager.

Key Functions:
Align and participate in the execution of duties/functions to achieve unit success in safety, harvesting, road construction, engineering, forestry, land use and quality assurance.
Provide organizational leadership through goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, development planning, training, compensation and monitoring the Integrated Skills Development Process.
Responsible to ensure raw material supply matches internal and external customer needs.
Accountable for business planning and strategic direction for the operation.
Final responsibility for budget planning and maintaining unit costs at competitive levels, while extracting the highest values from the tree farm.
Makes value-added decisions to guarantee log quality and sort specs are being met.
Ensures environmentally sound practices are carried throughout the operation, including harvesting, road building, complying with State and Federal environmental regulations, as well as SFI principles, Weyerhaeuser resource goals and silvicultural guidelines.
Key role to any interactions between Weyerhaeuser and Oregon Department of Forestry to maintain regulatory compliance with continued sound environmental performance and has lead responsibility from operation for media communications and involvement in government and community affairs.
Executes successful capital management.

REQUIREMENTS:
Four year college degree in applicable field.
Minimum 8 years harvesting experience preferred.
Three or more years of leading safety processes and initiatives.
Demonstrated and consistent success in sustaining excellent safety processes and results for and contractor operations, achieving operational objectives in a cost-effective manner (harvesting, engineering, and silvicultural) with work practices conducted in alignment with stewardship guidelines.
Familiarity with Washington Forest Practices Regulations is preferred.
Successful development and management of budgets, including experience managing capital projects.
Demonstrated record of delivering exceptional operating results and strategies to produce increased financial performance and earnings.
Must be willing to relocate, if necessary, to the described operating area.
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
Proficient presenter, communicator and user of MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Excel programs, as well as proficiency in interpreting financial statements.
