Groundskeeper (grouse mountain)

Overall maintainance and general upkeep of all grounds, gardens and outdoor facilities at Grouse Mountain Lodge. Will assist with maintenance or in other areas as needed. Performs any combination of duties indoors and outdoors as needed.
1. Takes care of all planted areas around hotel.
2. Cuts lawns using hand or power mower.
3. Trims and edges around walks and flower beds.
4. Cleans all areas around roadways or around buildings, pickups up trash or debris of any nature. May haul to dump.
5. Sprays lawns and shrubs with fertilizer or insecticide.
6. Rakes and hauls away leaves, clippings, etc. Removes litter using spiked stick, broom or rake.
7. Waters lawns and shrubs using hose or by activating fixed or portable sprinkler system.
8. Empties trash from waste receptacles to be hauled away.
9. Reports any unusual happenings to the Maintenance Manager and/or General Manager.
10. Repairs fences, gates, walls and walks using masonry or other tools as required.
11. Paints fences and outbuildings, cleans out drainage ditches and culverts using shovel and rake.
12. May operate tractor equipment with attachments such as mowers, limers or fertilizer spreaders and lawn roller.
13. May be designated to perform other specific tasks such as grass cutter, leaf raker, riding mower operator.
14. Adheres to all Company policies and regulations.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum of one year grounds crew, landscaping or maintenance experience required.
Previous experience with garden tools and machinery is required.
Ability to maintain grounds, flowerbeds, trees & shrubs.
Ability to diagnose various types of risk and/or issues and determine viable solutions.
Must be reliable and motivated.
Must be courteous and friendly in dealing with guests and co-workers.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid drivers lisence and clean driving record.
1. Work is outdoors, in changing temperatures & varying weather conditions.
2. Ablity to perform duties in various degrees of inclement weather.
3. Job requires standing, walking, bending, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 50 lbs, driving and repetitive motions.
4. Steel-toed shoes required.
5. Non-smoking environment.
