## Position Description
Boeing Space Exploration is a leading provider of human space flight and space exploration systems and services. Space Exploration, a division within Boeing Defense, Space and Security Network and Space Systems business, employs approximately 3,000 people in Alabama, California, Florida and Texas. As NASA defines its roadmap for the future, Boeing will apply its 50 years of experience in human spaceflight to assist NASA as it matures the technologies needed, such as a Space Launch System for crew exploration missions beyond Earth orbit, while leveraging our design work on the Ares upper stage rocket and associated avionics. Compiles and/or directs the development, collection and release for a variety of technical data products for the Space Launch System program. Collects and/or directs the collection of technical data and provides guidance for reviews of industry and Boeing standards for best practices and lessons learned. Analyzes key factors (e.g., data maturity, customer expectations, existing data from other Boeing sites, as well as subcontractor and supplier capabilities). Assess overall product quality and accuracy and develop plans and provide recommendations for process improvement. Incorporates changes, lessons learned and best practices into project control systems to maintain consistency with organizational, customer and contractual requirements. Negotiates with project participants and stakeholders to establish project deliverable definition, task scope, task sequence, resource plans and schedules in order to meet Boeing commitments. Discusses project objectives and associated data products with the project team to ensure work assignments are clearly understood and executable. Obtains recommendations from project and other organizations concerning workarounds, recovery plans, work scope changes, etc. Develops processes and associated metrics to track project status, identify process improvements and present data to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities include: Development of schedules and project management of technical products; ensuring contractual compliance and accuracy of technical products; tracking of action items through resolution; development of processes and procedures; and, development of products to support major program reviews. Position requires knowledge of systems engineering and configuration management processes, expertise with the following tools are required: Windchill/Advanced Product Data Management environments; Microsoft Office applications, including Word; Adobe Professional; and, Visio.
