The Solution Delivery Manager, Database (SDMD) is responsible for the coordination and delivering of enterprise level database and system support. This role will highly interact with Salix external service providers in the areas of database operational support, quality, monitoring and service delivery. The position serves as the primary point of contact for database administration activities and associated ecosystems and interfaces. The key responsibilities of the SDMD is governance across all areas of the database service including service management, incident and change management, service process improvement and customer satisfaction as well as playing a key role in ensuring the highest level of operational service delivery.
Responsible for providing consistent and stable service for all process and procedures associated with data and service delivery
Responsible for direct management and oversight of the service delivery vendor(s). Ensure that vendor obligations are being met and performed to contractual SLA's
Directs activities in accordance with service delivery objectives, budget and guidelines
Requires a comprehensive understanding of database administration, service management, SDLC and operational support processes
Work with the development team to ensure adherence to coding standards for stored procedures, triggers, logical and physical schema design
Review proposed complex structural changes to the database
Technical troubleshooting and consultation with quality assurance and development team
Defines and coordinates the monitoring of metrics for operational performance reporting
Orchestrates meetings that review service performance, operational improvements and overall delivery
Ensure service related documentation is up-to-date and accurate at all times
Facilitate data and service recovery in the event of business and client-impacting service disruptions and incidents
Ensure that IT services are designed, built, tested and operated as agreed to and in accordance with approved IT operations policies, technologies and designs
Leverage standard enterprise-grade platforms, technologies, methodologies, and best practices in the development and execution of data and service delivery operations
Accountable for all aspects of service availability and quality to ensure delivery of performance agreements and obligations
Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in data and service delivery
Ensure the proper functionality, scalability, and performance of SQL Server and Oracle databases
Review and deploy RFC releases (Request for Change) to support application and system releases
Write scripts for operational automation of manual administrative tasks
Adherence to established as well as new service protocols defined and managed through the Incident, Change, and Deployment Management processes
Monitor and analyze key IT quality indicators to proactively measure, track, and take action on negative variations in data or service delivery
## A four-year degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline is required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a service delivery role directly managing vendor activity. 5 years of experience working with relational databases for enterprise information systems and 3 years of Database Administration experience working with MS-SQL Server 2008/2012 ?acle; 11g
