Description - Basic Function
Organize, develop, lead and supervise the manufacturing function of a designated production area or process to ensure the achievement of the goals stated in the Business Plan for Safety, Quality, Production, Cost, Inventory, Delivery, and People. Supervision practices will be in accordance with Fletcher policies and procedures and accomplished by appropriately delegating work to theProduction WorkCenter Coordinator and utilizing the support staff, such as maintenance, engineering, accounting, purchasing, quality, and human resources as needed.
Key Accountabilities
1) Safety and Organization of Production area.
a) Ensure that the production area provides a safe environment that meets or exceeds all Fletcher standards as defined by the Safety Coordinator.
b) Ensure compliance with Safety, Housekeeping, Foot-printing, and Process and Material Identification procedures.
c) Ensure compliance to visual workplace standards where any abnormal item is identified and corrected.
2) Employee Staffing and Development
a) Responsible to forecast monthly direct and indirect labor requirements.
b) Responsible to plan and manage vacations within the department.
c) Ensure compliance to established staffing levels for each operation as specific in the process design.
d) Through training, validation, and compliance with process documentation, ensures that operators have the skills to perform defined tasks.
e) Ensure cross training and job rotation are used to support flexibility across the department.
f) Manage and verify that standard work practices are identified and confirmed with layered audits.
3) Quality
a) Ensure compliance with Production Start-ups, Process Set-up & Validation, Material Identification, Control Plans, and Non-Conforming Material & Change Notice.
b) Ensure proper identification and reporting of material.
c) Ensure compliance with all Quality procedures.
4) Production
a) Enhance overall performance by measuring and communicating performance.
b) Measure and communicate the efficiency by which targets are achieved.
c) Ensure production schedule requirements with shift to shift communication.
5) Cost
a) Manage the production floor monitoring system to track and measure all production cost, including direct and indirect labor, scrap, rework, and tooling expenses.
b) Identify corrective actions for any people, equipment or processes that do not operate to standard cost as identified in the engineering routings.
c) Reduce cost with a continuous focus on the elimination of waste and improved department management.
6) Inventory Accuracy
a) Ensure that inventory is controlled, identified and reported as specified in SAP.
b) Establish work practices that provide verification check to ensure accurate production reporting.
7) Delivery
a) Develop daily plan based on released SAP workbenches and production standards and measure the efficiency of the daily plan achievement.
b) Manage equipment capacity by scheduling equipment and staffing based on customer demand.
c) On time delivery of all supporting information and systems, such as Kronos and Production reporting.
8) People
a) Responsible to coach and develop for results.
b) Responsible to drive results by setting clear goals and objectives.
c) Manage attendance performance to maintain plant targets.
d) Responsible to develop and monitor standard work
e) Conduct appropriate counseling and discipline as required.
Conduct performance reviews on time and with objectivity.
## Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
Minimum of 5 years manufacturing supervision experience
Certified Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
Lean Certification preferred
Demonstrated success of applying Business Acumen, Problem Solving,
Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement including:

Planning and lead Kaizen events

Planning and lead six sigma events

Teaches and practices lean manufacturing and waste management

Leads 8-D Problem solving teams

Knowledge of process flow, constraint theory, up-time management and capacity planning.
