FMC Minerals is seeking an Operations Financial Analyst. The role will perform financial planning, forecasting and analysis in support of lithiums manufacturing operations. The position will also support the Operations Controller to drive cost savings and efficiency initiatives, develop and manage value added financial analysis and reporting to achieve lithiums goals.
Responsibilities: (Additional responsibilities may be assigned)
Forecasting
Coordinates monthly division forecasts by interfacing with the sales/marketing, operations, R&D and finance functions to develop consolidated reports to finance director.
Utilize analytical skills to assist in the operational monthly rolling forecast and annual budget process.
Develops division long range business plan.
Budgeting
Coordinates the preparation of the division annual budget. Works with operations, commercial, and R&D across all sites to ensure the process is executed smoothly.
Able to analyze budget results and review with division management.
Interpret and analyze detailed financial reports, including variance analysis in order to monitor performance and identify potential problems.
Partner with marketing and sales organizations to provide both financial and strategic financial modeling assistance.
Provides product and segment profitability analysis focusing on key drivers of performance including pricing, mix, cost and other variables.
Performs industry and competitor analysis and evaluations.
Compile financial data and track strategic initiatives to measure competitive positioning and market share trends.
Assist with Capital Investment Project requests by preparing the appropriate cash flow analysis documents to ensure adequate financial data for obtaining investment approval by senior management.
Provides financial justification support for capital expenditures proposals.
Operations Support
Support Operations in generating and quantifying savings opportunities as well as support to management in the implementation of cost reduction initiatives.
Monitor and validate Operational efficiency saving initiatives.
Prepare for publication monthly financial and business schedules/charts required as part of the book utilized for monthly operations business review meeting held by senior management.
Participate in monthly financial closing, analysis, and reporting; and variance analysis including spending, utilization, and manufacturing costs variances.
Assist in special manufacturing and operations projects that require financial and cost support.
Lend support of newly developed operational key performance metrics that are reported at a global level.
Assist in generating and publishing weekly, monthly and fiscal year end schedules and reports required.
Assist in continuous improvements to the monthly and annual forecasting/budgeting process.
Support Operations reporting (division dashboard, inventory reporting, manufacturing scorecard, etc).
Support with preparation of review decks for management and CEO/CFO meetings.
Accounting Support
Ensures accounting compliance of toll arrangements and other special procurement activities.
Assists with preparation of year end schedules.
Assists with audits as needed.
Serve on Division SOX Committee to assist with internal control policy creation and monitoring.
Maintain process narratives in order to ensure actual business process steps are accurately captured and remain up to date.
Monitor division month end close to ensure system is used appropriately and maintained efficiently.

Key Relationships/Customers:
Internal: Finance & Strategy Director, Financial Manager, Lithium management team, corporate accounting, Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial, Operations.
External: Auditors, Customers
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. 5
years of financial analysis or financial accounting oriented roles within a manufacturing setting.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
Strong in MS Office (Mainly Excel and Power Point)
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proven ability to work in a matrixed team based environment.
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Act preferred.
Previous experience in planning and conducting complex studies to determine cost of business activities and recommends budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures.
Able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, proactively adjudge and react to potential problems, and effectively communicate at all levels of management.
Excellent analytical and presentation skills, with ability to identify financial drivers and perform high level/detailed assessments and analyzes.
Previous experience in a manufacturing operation is a plus.
