Description:
Global Engineering provides Project Management and Engineering Technology expertise to all areas of AstraZeneca's global business. Working closely with Operations, R&D; and the Commercial organisations, Global Engineering provides innovative solutions with a rapid, flexible response to support business opportunities.
A role is available, working in the Global Engineering Technical Services team, for a Technology Engineer who will be responsible for delivering highly capable device assembly and packing solutions for the business.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Lead the development of highly capable manufacturing systems solutions through all design stages (concept through detailed design) for device assembly and packing applications (e.g. process/equipment design; material/people/information flows; change management processes).
Lead manufacturing system start-up activities required to establish specified capability.
Lead/support the establishment and maintenance of standard manufacturing systems solutions for device assembly and packing applications.
Working with the Purchasing function, facilitate the definition and role out of category plans for manufacturing systems.
Identify and evaluate best practice and act as a focal point to propagate it around the business.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the supply base.
Acquire/develop and deliver tools and techniques required to support the above. Coach and train other engineers in these tools and techniques.
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements -- Education and Experience
Degree calibre engineer/technologist.
Manufacturing systems engineering / mechatronics focus (IS aware).
Experience in an automated, and preferably regulated, manufacturing environment.
Experience in the specification, procurement, installation and operation of manufacturing systems involving device assembly and packing equipment in a consumer-oriented business.
Good working knowledge and understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Globally mobile.
