# External Job Description
Utilize electrical experience and in-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Manufacturers Association Standards, applicable ASME Crane Standards, CMMA No. 70 Specification - Multiple Girder Cranes, Allen Bradley / Siemens programmable logic controllers, electric crane controls and variable speed AC / DC drives, etc. to evaluate operational performance of all Ingalls Shipbuilding cranes. Investigate, troubleshoot and initiate corrective actions working closely with Maintenance personnel and vendors.
Selected candidate will determine capability of existing cranes to ensure support of present and future contracts. Evaluate and specify new cranes that will offer a cost and capability advantage. Prepare Capital equipment proposals and specifications. Evaluate proposals from multiple vendors and select the most productive and cost effective equipment. Coordinate installation, start up, adjustment, and commissioning of new cranes.
Position requires that the individual be willing and able to climb ladders and stairs to gain access to high locations.
# Preferred Qualifications
Experience with all Microsoft Office products, AutoCad & RSLogix 500 / 5000. Two (2) years of related experience with similar equipment and software desired.
