Our National Travel Industry Client located near Agoura Hills, CA is looking for a Contract-to-Hire or possible direct Full Time hire COBOL (Acucobol) API Developer.
Our Client is implementing direct connections to associate booking partners to obtain real-time data exchange information as they expand globally.
The qualified COBOL-API Developer will perform a wide range of API and COBOL development-related duties including analysis, design, evaluation, transactional development, testing and maintenance of new and existing COBOL software applications using existing programming standards. Writes, tests and debugs online screens working from program specifications. Participates in feasibility studies, analyzes business requirements and documentation to develop cost-effective solutions for API interfaces with users to achieve desired results. Creates detailed technical design deliverables and executes system test plans. Networks with professional teams, reads manuals, periodicals and technical reports to stay informed of new development and strategies. Offers professional input on decisions and direction. Performs other duties and assignments as required. Some travel may be required.

BS or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Demonstrated knowledge of application development environments, tools and methodologies
4-6 years experience in application development & maintenance
5
years with recent COBOL programming
Competent at defining and creating APIs using tools and technologies including Java, XML, PERL, SOAP, JSON, XSD
Prior experience with hotels or travel industry preferred
Excellent technical, analytical & organizational skills
Ability to work with a team or independently
