Position is responsible for the development and advancement of the practice of data
science. This includes specializing in analyzing large amounts of data including analyzing
all the social media aspects that are trending in the industry and determining how those
trends may affect the financial services industry.
This position also involves the ability to understand the rapidly evolving data visualization
technology, trends, and tools. The expectation of the role is to assist in driving the
organization's adoption of improved visual representation of data to allow clearer
communication, viewer engagement, and faster/better decision-making. Individuals in
this space will be involved in the research, development, and support of data visualization
techniques and analytics.
Bloomington location preferred but not required
DATA SCIENCE Skills/Professional
Experience:
Strong knowledge of information movement and data set up
Demonstrated advanced skills with test data practices
Proven experience in large scale conversion and synchronization of data stores across heterogeneous platforms
Experience with parallel movement and orchestration of data movement tasks
Proven experience working to tight deadlines
Strong desire to learn and keep current on emerging technologies, techniques and concepts
Proficiency in testing approaches
Solid understanding and working knowledge or relational databases ( DB2, PostgresSQL, Oracle, etc)
Experience with Informatica and Optim desired
Background in non-relational databases (Hadoop, Riak, and other no-SQL technologies)
HADOOP Skills/Professional
Experience:
Strong knowledge of Hadoop (or derivatives - e.g. Cloudera, Hadapt or other large table implementations)
Proven experience with a near Petabyte implementation a plus
Experience with parallel design and execution of data functions within a hadoop cluster
Proven experience working to tight deadlines
Software development and problem solving skills in a variety of platforms and/or programming languages
Strong Java development skills (SE and EE)
TEST Skills/Professional
Experience:
Strong knowledge of information movement and data set up

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree. Advanced degree or experience a plus
Experience with and solving enterprise-level data problems
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Comfortable interacting with both leadership and technical analysts
U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder only, client NOT willing to sponsor visas.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
