## Description
_Position Summary_
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for driving and modeling a culture of safety throughout the organization; partnering with leadership to deliver technical expertise and administrative support, and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset. This position will be based at our Piney Flats, TN location.
_Responsibilities May Include:_
Monitors and reports EHS metrics for assigned areas
Partner with management providing technical support to ensure regulatory compliance
Initiates and leads projects to identify and reduce risks to employees and the environment
Works with other functional areas to integrate EHS into all areas of the company
Provides guidance and support to safety committee and other employee teams
Conducts routine audits of existing local systems, equipment and processes to ensure compliance with company and government regulations
Provide training as needed to ensure regulatory compliance and injury prevention
Routinely communicates with employees to identify risks and solutions for injury prevention
Works with supplier and vendors to ensure proper disposal of wastes, Safety Data Sheets, contractor safety, supplies, equipment and other needs as they arise
Monthly, quarterly and annual EHS metric reporting
Completion of projects to continually reduce injury and environmental risks
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel to multiple sites as needed
## Qualifications
_Education Requirements_
Bachelors degree with an Employee Health Safety or Human Factors emphasis
_Position Requirements_
New grad experience level, internships a plus
Proficient using Microsoft Office and web based software applications
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
Knowledge of basic industrial hygiene including noise and air monitoring
Skills to lead a group project
Skills to develop training materials and conduct training
Physical capability to walk, climb and move as needed to access all areas of the facility, equipment and product
ASP or CSP certification, ASSE membership, preferred
Knowledge of basic industrial hygiene, and aviation industry preferred
