# External Job Description
Fire Fighter 4/Battalion Chief reports to the Manager of Facility Protection/Fire Chief and supports all department and company goals. Responsible for conducting the day to day operations of the fire department by assigning and supervising shift personnel as needed to complete all assigned task and is expected to supervise and conduct training. Candidate will use established protocols and standard procedures to initiate a proper responses to all shipboard and facility emergencies while assuming incident command and coordinating with Mutual Aid responders until relieved by the Fire Chief or other competent authority. This position works a 24/48 rotating Fire Department shift and may be required to work overtime or be recalled to respond as needed. Candidate must be able to remain calm in stressful situations and be able to work at any height and in any confined space or IDLH environment. Candidate is required to pass and maintain the ability to pass an annual Fire Fighter medical physical as conducted and evaluated by a company provided physician.

# Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and have a current National Registry EMTB or higher certification with six (6) years of full time Fire and EMS experience.
# Preferred Qualifications
Prefer candidate to have a Technician level HAZWOPER certification, High Angle and Confined Space Rescue certification, Shipboard fire fighting and training experience, Fire and EMS supervisory experience, Fire and EMS instructor experience as well as be a current or former Ingalls Shipbuilding Fire Fighter.
