Hi-Tec Systems, in support of the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center is seeking a Configuration Manager (CM) responsible for configuration management in support of the Volpe Center Software Development group responsible for developing and maintaining applications for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). In this role, you help reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities involving large trucks and buses. Your responsibilities consist of end-to-end support of software versions in the development, test and production environments used by the program. This requires proficiency in the use of a CM tool (currently Subversion with a Tortoise interface). Other responsibilities consist of assembling, verifying and delivering release packages including software, documentation, install scripts and rollback instructions to the team that will deploy it into production. This is a position requiring excellent technical skills and the experience and knowledge to function in a very technically demanding environment.

Minimum Requirements:
Hands-on configuration management experience
Demonstrated ability to support multiple ongoing projects
Ability to work independently
Strong technical skills across multiple technology platforms
Strong Interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to interact with developers, QA/QC, and the client
In-depth knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering to production operations
Software and tools: Subversion, Tortoise, Windows, Linux, MS Office, Oracle databases
Knowledge of scripting language such as Perl or Python
Education and Experience
BA/BS and five or more years of experience in IT organizations
Ability to obtain a successfully adjudicated National Agency Check background investigation
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
