Position
Summary:
The Manager, Information Technology manages a group with responsibility for application development, application maintenance and application support for the end-user community. S/he provides leadership for this function within the Fisher BioServices business supporting both the government and commercial aspects of the business.
Key
Responsibilities:
Hire, train and develop IT employees within own sphere of influence
Establish operational objectives and work plans, delegates assignments
Lead the implementation of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware and software and database management as directed by the company
Establish end-user support services for production systems.
Monitor systems for uninterrupted IT service
Identify system configuration needs based on government and commercial contracts and establish work plans to meet contractual obligations.
Utilize project management practices to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of IT solutions and services.
Represent the application management function as an active member of the BioServices Information Technology Leadership Team.
Collaborate with business leaders to establish objectives and performance requirements.
Leverage the Corporate Shared Services teams to advance projects and align to company standards.
Understand and enforces company's infrastructure architecture standards and policies to maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.
Recommend improvements in IT processes, services, and tools to the division's Information Technology Leadership Team.
Select, develop and evaluate employees to improve operational efficiency.
Ensure an appropriate mix of internal and external delivery resources to enable a flexible cost structure for the BioServices business.
Establish and adheres to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements
Collaborate with GIS and/or GA to implement company standards as needed
Comply with company's Global IT Policies & Procedures.
Provide site leadership to the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements/
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience acceptable.
4
years experience in IT Leadership roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of complex IT systems is required. Experience in the practical application of software development methodologies is required. Working knowledge of LEAN/AGILE software development methodologies is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in leading a team responsible for tier II application support is highly desirable.
Background in the life sciences industry, in particular experience with biobanking, lab systems (Nautilus) and/or ERP (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Federal Government contracting types (CPFF, GSA, etc.) is highly desirable.
Ability to work in a highly regulated environment. Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Computers Systems Validation (CSV) is required. Applied experience with GMP and CSV is a strong plus.
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Ability to quickly understand and adjust to changing business needs.
Strong negotiating and influencing skills. Demonstrated skill in vendor management.
Strong project management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle. Track record of on-time, on-budget project delivery.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment, inclusive of conflict resolution. Ability to manage staff that work from remote locations.
Ability to explain and champion technical concepts to a broad/non-technical audience.
Experience in enhancing organizational talent through people development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Strong relationship building skills.
Ability to travel as required (10-20%).
