Our direct client in Richardson, TX. Is seeking candidates for a full time permanent position for a DataStage (ETL) Administrator
Must have PeopleSoft/Campus Solutions knowledge/experience.
Job Description:
As a member of the Business Analytics and Reporting team, the Data Warehouse ETL Administrator coordinates the data administration technical functions for both data warehouse development and maintenance related to DataStage ETL processing. Plans and oversees the technical transitions between development, testing, and production phases of the workplace. Facilitates change control, problem management, and communication among data architects, programmers, system analysts, and functional users. Establishes and enforces processes to ensure a consistent, well managed, and well integrated data warehouse data transformation infrastructure. Expands and improves data warehouse to include data from all functions of the organization using data manipulation, transformation, and cleansing tools. Interacts with all layers of infrastructure and development teams. Participates in the design, structure, and development of PeopleSoft EPM/Datastage data warehouse program logic. The Administrator must be able to read job logs and/or any other associated log files. In addition, he/she should follow pre-defined procedures for addressing the problem, including re-initiating the failed job(s) and/or notifying the Technical Architect and/or Data Warehouse Manager.
Minimum
Qualifications:
BS MIS, CS, or related field required. Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, 5
years experience specifically in data warehouse ETL Administration. Experience working with Datastage in both an administrator role as well as a developer role. Expert in setup and deployment of IBM Datastage v8.x. Analyze existing infrastructure and jobs, ensures best practices are followed, recommends improvement roadmap. Implements procedures for maintenance, monitoring, backup, and recover of ETL environment. Regularly reports on health and performance of ETL environment and jobs. Ensures fixes, patches and service packs are applied. Able to provide off-hours support as needed. Solid understanding of SQL and databases, Indexing, Partitioning, etc. Familiar with UNIX shell programs, security procedures, file processing tasks and scripts. Team player, must be able to work with people within and outside of the I.R. department
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's Degree.
Solid understanding of business (accounting, budgeting, purchasing, etc.) processes and/or educational institutions.
Exceptional knowledge of PeopleSoft EPM Data Warehouse, Datastage, and PeopleSoft FIN/HCM/CS data structures.
Experience working with pre-packaged PeopleSoft EPM data marts and App Designer.
Previous experience as an Oracle database administrator or Unix/Windows systems Administrator.
Knowledge of file systems and storage in both Windows and Unix environments, including SAN.
Minimum
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure optimization, troubleshooting, and debugging; performing daily routine functions as a Datastage Administrator. Maintains ownership of release activities for ETL projects, imports/exports ETL jobs across projects/servers; works with business requirements analyst to identify and understand source data systems; map source system data to data warehouse models. Develop and test extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes; Define and capture metadata and rules associated with ETL processes; adapt ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements.
