This position is located in the High Desert District with a duty station of Rawlins, WY. The High Desert District encompasses the Rawlins, Kemmerer and Pinedale Field Offices. The district includes significant natural resources and land management issues that have national and regional impact. Resources managed in the district include the world's largest deposit of trona and the second ranked gas field in the nation. The district is responsible for integrating public land uses with emerging green energy sources such as wind. The district also helps manage oil and gas development, the transport of energy, management and protection of wild horses, and land conservation. The Rawlins Field Office area is mostly high plains with sagebrush and meadows with brilliant colors. The area also has high timbered mountains, world class big game hunting and blue ribbon trout streams. Camping opportunities are limitless and there are lakes and reservoirs for fishing and watercraft adventures to be found.
