Assistant General Labor And Employment Counsel
The candidate represents the Corporation and its subsidiaries in a broad range of labor and employment matters in state and federal court, agencies, mediation, and arbitration. This representation will include court appearances; serving as lead counsel at labor/employment arbitrations; drafting briefs, position statements and motion papers; and overall responsibility for administrative agency investigations. Provides responsive and timely legal advice to internal clients, including senior management, human resources and industrial relations professionals, on broad range of labor and employment law issues, including discipline, leave, duty to bargain, accommodations, and wage and hour. Works strategically with senior business and HR partners providing advice and support on HR initiatives, investigations and corporate policies. Provides training to large groups on a variety of topics, including Equal Employment Opportunities and Harassment. Maintains awareness of legal developments in relevant jurisdictions, provides updates internally, and works to implement necessary changes to policies/practices. Evaluates both legal and business risks of legally acceptable alternatives and implements solutions. Reports to labor/employment practice area head.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
