Logistics & Materials Flow Specialist

I. Position Purpose/Scope:
Performs planning of logistics structures and material flows in plant and warehouses. Strong logisitics structure candidates sought for this position- specifically with materials flow. Former BMW interns with the minimum credentials on the JFDS and the eligibility to return are encouraged to apply. Strong overall MS Office experience (SAP helpful- not mandatory). The function requires to be able to work when production is not running. Weekends, shutdowns etc. It is not all the time, but at least once a month.
II. Position
Responsibilities:
o Develops, creates and agrees structure and material flow concepts and implements them into existing or new structures.
o Performs layout, process and material flow planning for all existing plant and warehouse structures and future plant expansions.
o Analyzes costs and calculates business cases as preparation for management decisions.
o Interacts with logistics service providers on structural and financial issues.
o Responsible for X5 successor structure planning for warehouse expansion project, including process planning and detailed layout planning.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
