Job Description

The Windows Services Platform Manager directs and coordinates the design, installation and support of all virtualization, storage, and backup technologies for the Windows platform and others as required. This includes developing, maintaining and supporting services, management tools, and system deployment methodologies according to current business needs. Working with the Manager of Windows Services, the role will prioritize the work in alignment with overall Technology goals and priorities. The role will provide technical leadership and mentoring on all related technologies for the specialists on the team.

Essential Functions

Technology Infrastructure Management
Designs, supports, implements and monitors for virtualization solutions company-wide, including disaster recovery implementation as required.
Manages the design, implementation, support, and monitoring of data backup and retention for all required platforms, including Windows and UNIX.
Manages centralized storage systems for all required platforms.
Creates standards for server hardware for all Windows-based solutions.
Implements, monitors and reports on supported configurations in alignment with company security policy.
Provides regular reporting of current infrastructure health status to the management team.
Ensures that all required security policies are implemented, maintained, and reported on at required intervals.
Provides cost and financial analysis, presentation materials, implementation schedules and other artifacts as requested to support progress reporting and leadership decision making.
Ensures that all change control processes are observed in processes and implementations performed by the team.
Manages support functions related to technologies managed, including metric reporting and escalation management.

Leads System Design and Implementation
Works with the Windows Services Manager to provide consistent prioritization of team activities on a 2-4 week horizon.
Provides expert advice on domain technologies to contribute to product choice and design strategy.
Leads the architecture design of new solutions and/or reviews all new product/service designs.
Manages project budget performance to ensure costs are aligned to planned budgets.
Implements documentation and procedures and ensures these are formally in place and followed.
Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation.

Leads and Develops Others
Manages resources and people processes (e.g., performance review, career development, training, staffing, etc.) to ensure the day-to-day administration of processes and formal procedures.
Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, conferences, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual and team development.
Develops and reviews goals and detailed action plans to develop staff personally and professionally with the overarching goal of building organizational capability.
Conducts frequent performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner for facilitating open communication and encouraging continuous performance improvement.
Holds staff accountable to established performance levels for achieving individual and group goals.
Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with policies and procedures to motivate and foster teamwork.
Coaches others and provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance.
Identifies opportunities to involve others in new and challenging work assignments that advance the skills and capabilities of individuals, teams, and the organization.
Provides salary recommendations consistent with employee performance.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
