Overview:
The VP of Consumer Marketing is a key member of Higher One's management as Higher One's student customers account for the majority of Higher One's revenues. S/he will be responsible developing and executing a clearly defined marketing and communications strategy that supports the company's growth objectives, increases customer profitability and enhances the customer experience to support brand equity and awareness. This position is one of three roles reporting to the CMO, (the others are VP of Campus Marketing and VP of Corporate Communication and Identity).
Responsibilities:
Define and drive a consumer marketing vision that embraces a customer-centric approach, based on lifecycle and relationships
Develop and manage the annual consumer marketing plan
Create, manage, coordinate and execute multi-channel consumer marketing strategies and implement tactical plans that meet and exceed company expectations
Own the customer lifecycle from acquisition to retention and increase customer engagement and customer lifetime value
Develop/enhance state-of-the-art execution capabilities (campaign management, CRM, analytics, channel management) to continuously improve the effectiveness of the marketing organization
Manage a multi-million dollar marketing budget and determine appropriate marketing financial investments across all consumer touchpoints, and assure effective spending and accountability for ROI
Lead and develop a team of 10 marketing professionals
Be a member of the leadership team and a key contributor to continued profitable growth, contribute to all aspects of corporate strategy
Partner closely with all corporate functions and product groups to ensure alignment of plans
Generate actionable insights about target segments through research, VOC measurement, industry news to ensure that Higher One's value proposition meets customer needs
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in direct marketing, digital marketing and marketing leadership. Interaction with multiple internal and external constituents in a highly regulated environment requires a fine balance of creativity and structured thinking. Experience in financial services a plus, but not necessary.
15 years of experience in marketing roles, demonstrating progressive track record of growth and leadership
Experience managing and developing a team of marketing professionals as well as marketing agency and vendor relationships
Ability to concisely and effectively communicate ideas, concepts, proposals to all levels of the organization, both verbally and in written formats
Entrepreneurial 'test and learn' mindset with track record of leading innovation and change
Passion for data-driven decision making and strong analytics capabilities
Builds and sustains excellent relationships at multiple levels in the workplace, gains the respect of senior executives and serves as trusted advisor
Relates business and communication decisions to core values and business strategy, demonstrates sound thinking in recommending appropriate business decisions to senior executives
A Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, journalism, or a related area is required
Experience in a regulated industry environment a plus

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
