Job Duties
Support the Director of Technical Accounting, Controls & Compliance to evaluate the impact to the Company of proposed accounting pronouncements and technical accounting treatment for non-routine transactions. Assist in the documentation and implementation of conclusions for Corporate Accounting areas of responsibility.
Prepare and peer-review journal entries, high risk balance sheet reconciliations, and complex monthly and ad-hoc reports and supporting schedules. Through research and follow up, ensure that reconciling items and discrepancies in accounting data are resolved in a timely manner.
Provide guidance on accounting issues to business groups of the Company as needed
Prepare, peer-review, and provide documents (e.g. reconciliations, supporting schedules, process maps) by requested deadlines to the Company's external auditors, the Controls & Compliance group and Financial Reporting to ensure timely completion of quarterly reviews, the annual financial statement audit, SOX compliance test work, and the filing of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules with various government agencies
Verify and document the completeness and accuracy of system interfaces for assigned areas of responsibility
Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation and documentation of accounting systems and related interfaces. Recommend and implement system modifications to improve internal control, increase efficiency or reduce costs. Identify, document, and escalate system issues to the I.T. department.
Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes, procedures and accounting assumptions on an ongoing basis. Recommend and implement process improvements to improve the control environment and increase the utilization of resources (people, technology, funds).
Develop and maintain documentation for business and system processes for assigned responsibilities
Represent Corporate Accounting in meetings and through written and verbal communication with internal and external customers
Assist in providing new employees with appropriate training on business processes and system applications for assigned areas of responsibility. Assist in providing direction as needed to team members.
Perform a variety of other functions/ad-hoc projects as assigned to aid in the department's/company's achievement of goals and business objectives

Qualifications
At least 2 years experience with a large public accounting firm serving public clients or equivalent progressive accounting experience in a large publicly traded company preferred
CPA preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
