Senior Software Engineer - Direct Hire
Job Description
Receives and interprets internal and customer requirements and develops embedded controller software solutions that meet/exceed capability, cost, and quality requirements, including: real-time operating system, control algorithms for maintaining Lithium battery systems, various communications protocols for interfacing to 3rd party devices, and devices drivers for microprocessor peripherals (including LIN and CAN communications).
Will read electronic schematics and use electronic tools such as oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, and serial communications monitors.
Job Responsibilities
Releasing product documentation and maintaining revision control.
Proactively working with development teams and manufacturing to ensure successful product launch.
Developing software design documentation, including flow diagrams, state machines, pseudo code, and memory maps.
Building, simulating, and testing code to verify design requirements and concepts.
Participating in design, development, verification, and documentation of manufacturing test equipment designs and test specifications for production electronics.
Interfacing cross-functionally across various engineering team members (mechanical, thermal, systems, hardware, and cell development).
Participating in internal and customer design reviews. Participating in code review.
Bringing technical issues to the teams' attention and developing countermeasures.
Participating in root cause analysis and countermeasure identification.
Supporting and assisting activities to launch prototype and production products.
Employ company standards and procedures.
Ad-hoc projects, as assigned.
Preferred Experience and Education
Relevant Bachelor's or Master's Degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
Technical excellence demonstrated with embedded systems in the automotive industry.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
High familiarity with model-based development, C-programming, editors, compilers, version control.
Self-organized, taking responsibility with dedication to deliver results - on time and with high quality.
Travel Requirements
5% including potential travel to Ohio and Germany
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
