The Bruce, MS operation is a random length sawmill primarily producing lumber up to 20 feet in length with some specialty related capacity. Bruce, MS is located in northwestern Mississippi and filled with natural beauty and small-town charm. The Bruce, Mississippi Lumber operations has an immediate opening for an Environmental Manager. The Environmental Manager is responsible and accountable for environmental processes at the Bruce, MS and Millport, AL lumber facilities; with duties to include leading the implementation of environmental processes; championing best practices to meet customer satisfaction; maintaining all environmental records; leading compliance and proactive environmental systems; ensuring Federal and State compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions; and championing best practices to improve unit performance. This position partners with the Mill's leadership team to establish and model organizational behavior that leads to excellent mill performance. This position reports to the Mill Manager.

Key Functions:
Role model all standards/processes and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of integrity, fairness, & creating a positive inclusive work environment.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions on a daily basis.
Ensure that inspections and recordkeeping are performed at required frequencies, and that environmental monitoring parameters are in accordance with permits, plans, government regulations, or other regulatory or company requirements.
Build relationships with county, state and federal agencies concerning environmental compliance; and work with them to influence regulatory outcomes.
Ensure proper and timely implementation of facility environmental plans and procedures.
Record and report pollution upsets to the facility manager, appropriate regulatory agencies, and to the appropriate company environmental contact.
Support and/or lead facility environmental compliance audits at the facility.
Maintain environmental records at the facility for mandatory retention periods or as determined appropriate.
Conducts environmental training for all employees and new hires as required
Participate as an active member of the Unit's lead team to actively support unit and business goals and objectives and establish and model organizational behavior.
Own and/or contribute to other mill functions, such as safety initiatives.
Maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
Participate in annual extraneous business environmental corporate audit.
Chemical management coordinator ( Globally Harmonized Systems) and update Dolphin respectively.
Participate in corporate environmental workshops.
Owner of Industrial Hygiene health and safety exchange element.

Requirements:
The following qualifications are required:
Bachelor's Degree, Engineering preferred.
Three or more years working experience in Environmental regulatory affairs.
Strong understanding of applicable environmental requirements and permits, including: air, state and municipal waste requirements, stormwater, spill control, hazardous materials, and chemical management.
Thorough understanding of compliance management .
Understands environmental compliance auditing process and able to complete an internal/external audit/review.
High degree of initiative.
Project management skills to include the ability to develop and implement environmental processes.
Proven skills in administering, managing and training of environmental policies & regulatory requirements.
Strong, engaging, people-centered leadership style.
Proactive, assertive and ability to work with a sense of urgency.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Exceptional organizational, prioritization & planning skills.
Demonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and other windows based programs.
Willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, which may include weekend and holiday support as conditions require.
Ability to perform physical requirements of working in an industrial environment, such as climbing stairs and working in extreme heat and cold.
High level of integrity, strong work ethic, good judgment and problem solving skills.

The following qualifications are preferred:
Wood products / industrial experience.
