Career Transitions, LLC is working with a client in Elkhart, IN who is seeking a Purchasing Agent. This position will secure purchasing relationships with a wide spectrum of vendors for the purpose of acquiring steel and aluminum for the manufacturing operation that matches the required specifications and costs. Engage in negotiations that will provide the client with with the best possible pricing available along with the optimum payment options. Maintain inventory stock levels within established guidelines.
Experience:
Prefer 3
years related experience
Preferred: steel/aluminum fabrication industry
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Excellent knowledge of the purchasing process including negotiations and order placement
In depth knowledge of steel, aluminum, and other metals
Strong negotiating and bargaining skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work on numerous tasks simultaneously
Ability to determine what is priority from what is important
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (required), ability to learn the company's ERP software
Good communication skills, both verbally and written
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
