The SQL Server Database Administrator provides database administration for existing production database environments to include performance of the following related tasks: database backup and restore, query writing, configuration, security implementation, database monitoring, management of SQL Server

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
Implement best practices for database usage, high availability and business continuity.
Maintain databases, including all production, backup and disaster recovery (DR) sites.
Administer database security across all database environments.
Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
Maintain a state-of-the-art knowledge of existing best practices in database administration.
Tune T-SQL queries to improve performance
Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the businesss Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
Test backups to ensure we can meet the business Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
Find DMV queries to answer questions about server-level performance
Be aware of business issues and business requirements.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in
computer
Science,
information technology
or equivalent.
2
years of SQL Server DBA experience.
SKILLS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively within a fast growing company.
Prior experience with the following is preferred: SQL Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, MS SQL Server Integration
services
(SSIS) knowledge (including script tasks written in .Net), Replication, Performance Tuning, Backup and recovery methods, Database capacity planning, and Users and Role creation and monitoring.
Experience in SQL 2005/2008 database management and related products from Microsoft including Windows 2003/2008 Server and desktop operating systems.
Experience in third party tools like Quest Software SQL Spotlight and Redgate SQL Backup.
MUST HAVES:
Understanding of disaster recovery best practices. We have a DR site in Miami we keep up to the minute so understanding backup and recovery of databases is critical.
NOC mentality. Understanding monitoring (Spotlight/SQL Server monitoring), establishing thresholds, triage skills when production incidents occur, change management best practices (scheduling, communicating, working with the business).
Data mining and reporting. VPs/Execs/Finance are very dependent on data in our databases pertaining to orders placed. One thing we need is someone with the ability to quickly find and present this data.
Ready for a fast paced environment. Its not the Wild West but we are a lot faster to production than most companies.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
