We are currently assisting one of our clients located in downtown Birmingham, AL in a search for a Developer that will work on Business Intelligence/Reporting projects and also work on software development projects related to their web & sharepoint environments. This is a great
position
for a person that wants to stay involved in the world of data but also wants to get to work with sharepoint and other web based systems as well. The position will involve utilizing Informatica for ETL. Other programming responsibilities could be in sharepoint, C#, VB.NET. Our client is one of the largest companies in their industry and this position is based at their corporate office located on the east side of downtown Birmingham.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Business Intelligence:
- Work closely with business area leaders to develop and implement productivity and reporting tools that streamline information flow and availability within the company and to their customers.
- The individual in this position is expected to be able to research, analyze, design, and implement information sources that contain the detail and summarized transaction data required.
- The delivery of this information may take the form of paper reports, dashboards, ETLs, and other
services
, including those made available via web-enabled delivery.
- This individual will also review, research, and recommend standard tools that can be used to develop models, templates, reports, and, in general, information that can be applied to various business areas.
- A key success factor for this position will be the ability to provide QUICK response to requests for information/reports.
Business Application Development:
- Act independently or with limited direction, design, code, test, debug, and document complex programs from detailed specifications.
- Frequent interaction required with other IS staff and users.
- Be able to efficiently translate complex user enhancements into application flow.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with technologies in data migration and integration - ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, or other ETL tools on the market.
- Candidate should have previous experience or be open to using programming languages on projects which could include VB.NET, C#, or working in SharePoint.
- Previous experience developing reports
Education Requirements:
- College degree in
computer
science, MIS, or other field.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
