INVISTA's Performance Surfaces & Materials business, which represents the STAINMASTER and ANTRON brands, is seeking a PhD Research Scientist to join our R&D; team. This position will be based in our Camden, SC facility.
The role will involve interaction with a cross section of technology, sales, and marketing teams to discover and develop innovative solutions for our growing businesses.

Responsibilities:_
Leading programs related to product & process development, process troubleshooting, product application development and new technology development & commercialization.
Candidates will be involved in the design, approval, and execution of experimental programs in the lab, semi-works and commercial manufacturing environments.
Candidate must be comfortable interfacing with manufacturing and business/commercial leaders as well as peers, support personnel and R&D; leadership.
Strong technical orientation combined with an entrepreneurial spirit is required, where value is generated through creative insight, disciplined problem solving, personal accountability, economic decision making, and critical thinking.
Candidate will be expected to learn and apply INVISTA's MBM Guiding Principles and Code of Conduct.
Strong oral and written English communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
_Required Educations & Skills:_
PhD in a polymer related discipline such as Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, or Related Field.
_Preferred Qualifications & Skills:_
Ability to work in a team to meet project objectives or scale-up prototype processes beyond the lab
Demonstrated research proficiency in the candidate's respective field
Experience with polyamides and polyester a plus
Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future.
