The Restaurant Host/Hostess supervises and coordinates activities of dining room personnel to ensure fast and courteous service to our guests. He/She schedules dining room reservations, arranges parties, special
events
, and/or special
services
for diners. A representative list of duties is as follows:
o Receives and records patrons' dining reservations o Greets guests and seats them at tables or in waiting areas o Inspects dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup o Assigns work tasks and coordinates activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service o Inspects dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness o Maintains contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and guests' concerns are promptly addressed o Requisitions table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations o May interview, hire, and discharge dining room personnel o Trains dining room employees o Schedules work hours and keeps time records of dining room workers o May assist in planning menus o May prepare beverages and expedite food orders o Operates cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages o Prepare cash receipts after establishments close, and make bank depositsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
