Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com) the nonprofit staffing specialists have been engaged to locate a new finance Director for our nonprofit social service client in Salem,
oregon
. The Finance Director is a new position, and will work onsite in their wonderful office leading and managing their finances and working with the senior leadership team and support staff. This position is for immediate hire, and is located onsite in Salem, Oregon.
In this hands -on finance leadership position you will have the opportunity to:
Oversee all accounting and finance activities.
Take financial leadership and give constructive advice and support to leadership.
Work with the strategic finance committee and the executive team.
Manage all financial accounting and reporting.
Provide constructive and strategic financial information to senior staff members in their work.
Create monthly financial statements and reports.
Oversee, manage, train, and review one supporting account assistant team member.
Provide information and supervise auditors.
Help develop and monitor the organization?s annual budget.
Process income from nonprofit income streams .
Process payroll, and filing payroll, federal, and state tax.
Help maintain and oversee the staff's medical/dental/vision/life benefits.
Assist auditors with preparation of the organization?s annual tax returns.
Assist Senior Staff in the support and strategic development of departmental budgets.
Participate, review and make recommendations related to contracts, insurance, benefits, and other items.
Some operational management duties as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Finance, or related field.
Five years of hands-on accounting experience preferably most recently in a management role.
Prior nonprofit accounting understanding and interest.
Proven general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, reporting, budget, tax and financial understanding.
Account reconciliation and experience working with (QuickBooks), and leading accounting for multiple budgets/divisions/companies highly preferred.
Experience with Word, Excel, MS Access, databases or report writing software sought.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Salary & Benefits

The starting base salary is very dependent on candidate experience but will generally range from $55,000 to $80,000 DOE, and includes a wonderful and very competitive package of benefits including health, dental, vision, 401k, 401k matching program, long term disability, life insurance, vacation time, sick time, PTO, and a job you will love!
