The Biometrics Engineer will provide technical and functional recommendations to advance the warfighter's ability to collect and report a broad array of intelligence data into a network with centralized processing capabilities in order to receive near real time responses from national resources. Responsibilities
o Provide Full Life-Cycle development support as Project
manager
for the PM RITE/Trojan/R3G development of a Next Generation Hand-Held Biometric and Forensic collection device capable of multi-modal collection and transmission of biometric data.
o Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the areas of biometrics enabled and military intelligence operations
o Responsible for ensuring that the newly developed hand-held product is fully integrated with current and legacy systems while providing flexibility for future mission requirements.
o Provide technical recommendations for the integration, testing, troubleshooting and fielding of leading-edge biometrics and communications technologies to develop end-to- end solutions
o Provide analytical and subject matter expertise, oversight, and direction to the program's senior management
o Enhance provisioning of the Biometric Enabled Watch List (BEWL) and help standardize processes
o Support the Warfighter through biometrics research and provide a broad analytical support capability
o Conduct presentations and briefings to top level managers and military members
Maintain a schedule
Basic Qualifications (including Education and Years of Experience Required)
o Bachelor's degree
o Substitution: 5-10 years of relevant experience, if individual does not possess a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 8-10 years of experience
o Experience with biometrics collection devices such as the SEEK, SEEK II, SEEK Avenger, Corvis ID biometric hand-helds
o Experience analyzing requirements and recommending the use of biometric devices,
services
, and techniques to improve the collection, production and dissemination of intelligence data
o Experience with intelligence analysis research tools and processes, which may include: the Automated Biometrics Identification System (ABIS), Biometrics Identification System for Access (BISA), the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS), Discovery Synchronization Services (DSS), Biometric Automated Toolset (BAT), Biometrics Identity Intelligence Resource (BI2R), Automated Identity Management System (AIMS), Pathfinder, M3 Biometrics, and Query Tree
o Possess an understanding of the the Biometric Enabled Watch List (BEWL) and its functional processes
o Must possess an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain up to a TS/SCI
o Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
o Expert knowledge of DoD biometric requirements, DFBA/BIMA, and the PM Biometrics acquisition processes
o Knowledge of wireless biometrics operations to include 3G/4G/LTE, 802.11, and SATCOM technologies and associated Information Assurance requirements
