The primary responsibility of this
position
is to provide technical leadership on materials and corrosion related issues associated with chemical processing assets. The areas of responsibilities include: material selection, corrosion control, welding, failure analyses and cathodic protection.
This position offers the opportunity to:
Provide consultation on the evaluation and selection of materials to support ongoing operations and capital projects
Provide consultation on corrosion problems encountered in the chemical process industry.
Conduct failure analyses on process equipment, including the specification of the proper analysis techniques, the identification of failure modes and the concise reporting of conclusions and recommendations
Evaluate and approve welding procedures from fabricators and
repair
shops utilizing knowledge of ASME Sec. IX codes on welding process and
welder
qualifications
Develop corrosion monitoring programs, including the selection of monitoring tools, assist in the installation and analysis of the results
Provide consultation on the fabrication and heat treatment of equipment and piping made of common metallic materials
Provide consultation on the application of surface treatments such as metallizing, weld cladding, passivation and pickling
Provide consultation on water treatment issues.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Materials Engineering ,Corrosion Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree and a minimum of six (6) years of industrial experience OR
Masters Degree in Materials Engineering ,Corrosion Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree and a minimum of four (4) years of industrial experience OR
Ph.D. in Materials Engineering ,Corrosion Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree and a minimum of two (2) years of industrial experience
Strong troubleshooting ability with process equipment commonly used in the chemical process or related industries
Understanding of corrosion and metallurgical deterioration mechanisms, mechanical and physical properties of metals and non-metals, welding, coatings and cathodic protection
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in material selection, damage mechanisms and failure analyses
Ability to evaluate or develop new technologies,
services
, and tools within the corrosion and materials areas
Strong leadership, interpersonal, networking and teamwork skills for data gathering, building consensus in teams for problem solving
Ability to plan, prioritize and implement multiple concurrent projects or activities in order to effectively meet business needs
Ability to work well with people in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team environment at all levels of the organization, as well as, strategic partners and resources.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of the ASME and API Code standards which govern the design, analysis, repair and alteration of pressure vessels, piping, storage tanks and heat exchangers
Experience in specifying non-metallic materials commonly used in the chemical process industries
Experience developing Quality Assurance plans for the fabrication and repair of process equipment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
