The Weitz Company is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to be located out of our Lenexa, KS office.
Essential Duties:
The Project Engineer assists the Assistant Project
manager
or Project Manager and Project Superintendent in project planning, buyout, project management and close-out for one or more assigned projects. The Project Engineer actively gathers information on the status of his/her projects and keeps the Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager informed of issues that could affect schedule and budget. This
position
also assists in maintaining a focus on safety throughout project duration. The Project Engineer typically reports to the Project Manager or other assigned
supervisor
and may manage Project Engineers and Project Coordinators assigned to the project.
Required Skills
Essential Skills:
Communication, project management, judgment, initiative, time management, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, project organization, attention to detail, flexibility, and problem solving are necessary skills for this position.

successfully, an individual must be able to perform each previously stated duty satisfactorily. Therequirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to succeed as a Project Engineer :
Education: A high school diploma is required. Industry related college degree is preferred.
Experience: Construction experience is preferred, but not required. One to two years in a fast paced business environment would be helpful.
