This position is funded from the Commonwealth's annual operating budget.Duties:
The Board Member presides over administrative, evidentiary hearings in a professional, ethical and impartial manner in assessing the risk of re-offense and the degree of dangerousness posed to the public by each sex offender based on evidence presented at each hearing. Drafts detailed findings of fact to support the determination made as a result of the hearing in accordance with the statue and regulations. Reviews and approves recommended classification levels of sex offenders in accordance with agency regulations to ensure fairness and uniformity of agency decisions. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) five years of full-time or equivalent part-time, supervisory or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration and (B) of which at least two years must have been in a management capacity.

Qualifications:
M.G.L. c.6 178K sets forth the specific qualifications required of each Board Member. The minimum experience and education is set forth in M.G.L. c.6, 178K.
Beyond the statutory requirements, Board Members must have an understanding of the criminal justice system, a thorough knowledge of the Sex Offender Registry law, an understanding of the processes of Massachusetts state government, the ability to manage time efficiently and the ability to deal with a diverse staff with varying degrees of training and education.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
